Inspiration can come from a memory and a simple concept can develop into a path of continuity. For this project the colors found in the counter-top material draws in colors found in old Japanese glass fishing floats known locally as pōpō aniani. Blending in sandy beach colors, the foundation was established. Splashing in color from the owner's art collection added energy with counter points of calm peaceful paintings keeping things interesting. The coconut husk color in all millwork and the staircase became the thread throughout every room creating a perfect finish to connect the elements found in our island environment.
