Aloha from Swan Interiors
In the aftermath of last weeks devastation, we are here working together finding the way forward in support of the community and our clients.
We are sad to report that one of our clients lost their home in the fire. Together with our clients, Bob and Audra, our team, contractors, tradesmen and consultants we spent three years creating the perfect small cozy retreat in an amazing unique setting on Front Street. We were about 85% complete last week with the entire project in nearing the final phases of construction. This rolls into the overwhelming heartache we are feeling as we learn about friends and family lost or affected by the devastation.
Our immediate attention is focused on doing all we can with donations to get help to vast folks that are starting from nothing.
We are providing you with a short list of places to consider for your donations.
Places to donate:
Hawaii Community Foundation
Lahaina Restoration Foundation
Hawaii Food Bank
Looking ahead, we see the many struggles that are yet to surface. In addition to the loss of people, businesses, livelihoods, homes and animals, we lost a historical town that was iconic to Maui. It isn’t possible to build history and we know the road ahead falls into a vast canyon of cascading and unknowable impacts. As designers, we hope to find ways to engage with visions for the future and are committed to being a part of any conversations in a meaningful way.
For those of you with homes projects underway on the west side of the island, we will do what we can when we can once access is established.
Also, our freight forwarder has offered to ship disaster related items at no charge. If you have the means and opportunity, please let us know and we can make those arrangements.
